When you step back into the dating world after a relationship, and you find someone who compliments you is super sweet etc. It feels good. Well that my friends is me. I am back into the dating world and I’d like to give a few tips on how to remain safe, and smart when it comes to dating.

1. If you’ve met this date online like, from okcupid.com or even a social networking site, make the date in public, take a friend with you to meet up with the person so you and your friend can get a feel for them. This keeps you safe because A) its in public and B) you won’t be alone if it turns out bad
2. Bring with you a purse, pepper spray, some extra cash and your cell phone. If the date is turning out bad and you need to get away you will be able to do so with the extra cash for a cab and if need be text your friends with ‘code red’ for them to call you, this way you can get away. You should also bring with you your ID and driver’s license.
3. Go out to dinner, go to a bar, a club whatever but make it public. Talk with your date — don’t go off in private with your date that’s asking for problems. Also NEVER leave your drink, if you leave it to go to the bathroom  get another one. Roofies are a real issue and you don’t want to be a victim of date rape.
4. Know your surroundings. Know at all times where you are and what you are doing.
5. Say thank you.

Now that I’m back inside the dating world, I can’t help but to feel a little over whelmed. That and my it’s complicated wannabe boyfriend called last night and now my world went from complicated to soap opera in like 5 minutes. I’m done playing games, being a secret and a closet case. I’m done.
